We are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work in this exciting and fast paced £35m sales turnover business. The successful applicant will be responsible for investigating and providing corrective action and implementing robust countermeasures to reduce customer complaints and internal quality non-conformances, as well as actively participating in the internal audit process.

Monday to Friday 8am till 16.00

Key responsibilities include: -

  • Ø Developing, analysing and maintaining quality metrics
  • Ø Interacting with internal departments to improve the quality of processes and components
  • Ø Analysing reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Ø Continually working with suppliers to improve performance by implementing improvement plans and process controls
  • Ø Interfacing with supplier quality representatives concerning quality problems, ensuring the effective corrective action is implemented in addition to assistance in the development of supplier quality improvement programs

Essential Qualities include: -

  • Ø HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
  • Ø Six Sigma Green Belt qualification, as well as a qualification as a Lead Auditor of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Ø Experience of 1st Tier Manufacturing Environment, Leading Supplier or Internal Audits, Continuous Improvement of Manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing, Maintenance of Quality Records, Liaison with Engineering teams to facilitate improvement activity, and Key Customer Account Management
  • Ø Technical Knowledge of Pre-Production Approval Parts, Advanced Product Quality Planning, Failure Mode and Effective Analysis, Six Sigma, AS9100, 8D (Practical Problem Solving), Quality Function Deployment, and Control Plans
  • Ø Self motivated, with the ability to prioritise
  • Ø Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ø Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages
  • Ø Ability to understand business metrics to quantify and track improvements
  • Ø Team player, with the ability to work independently
  • Ø Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ø Numerate and literate

Desirable Qualities include: -

  • Ø Membership of the Institute of Quality Assurance
  • Ø Technical knowledge of ISO14001 / ISO9001 / AS9100
